With you! From September, 6th to 18th the ABF Solidarity SMS Campaign in Italy

  • 5 September 2017

In September, the “Eternal City” is hosting the fourth “Celebrity Fight Night”, a US beneficial institution that since 2014, thanks to the direct involvement of the Bocelli family, has also realized an edition taking place in Italy.

After considering Florence, for the first three years, as a reference point for this philanthropic initiative, this year, “CFN” will focus on Rome. The proceeds will go to Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center in Phoenix and ABF educational projects.

The culmination of the benefit trip that will host over 150 major donors coming from the United States will be an event that, this year, our founder, along with Elton John (as well as Sharon Stone, soprano Sumi Jo, Chris Botti, Brooks & Dunn, Josè Carreras, David Foster, Reba McEntire, The Band Perry, Steven Tyler …) has conceived inside the Flavian Amphitheater and will be aired on Rai Uno, the main Italian TV channel on September 15th.

The Colosseum concert will also be the time for the greatest media visibility for our Fundraising Campaign through Solidarity SMS, linked to the ABF ‘Educate to Grow’ project.

The campaign will start on Wednesday September 6th and will be active until September 18th: at the n. 45523 from an Italian mobile phone you will be able to donate € 2 with SMS from personal mobile WIND|3, TIM, Vodafone, Poste Mobile, Coop Voce and Tiscali, or € 5 by network call to Vodafone, TWT, Convergenze and Poste Mobile, or 2 or 5 € with fixed-line call to TIM, WIND|3, Fastweb and Tiscali. Every single euro will go to the educational projects that the Andrea Bocelli Foundation is carrying on in Haiti and in Italy. If you do not have an Italian mobile phone but you wish to join forces and donate to support our work please go to: https://donate.andreabocellifoundation.org

Today, on the Caribbean Island, the foundation deals, every day, with more than 2500 children (and their families, and their communities) of Abricot, Kenscoff, Croix-des-Bouquets, Dame Marie and Devarenne who live in such poor conditions that they cannot afford to pay neither the fees requested by the school, nor what requested by the state and/or private medical dispensaries. ABF therefore guarantees continuity in access to education to the students of the five communities (but also a salary for their highly qualified teachers), aiming at improving the level of education and introducing art as a further expression of their talents. It also provides health care (and a reference point) to these local communities by preventing the spread of illness through training seminars, and aiming at reversing the migration process from the most marginalized communities to the capital slum.

ABF educational projects are also developing in Italy: new emergencies have come out further to the devastating seismic swarm that has affected Italy.

To date, ABF, in partnership with Only the Brave Foundation, has begun the works for the construction of a new school structure that will be donated to the City of Sarnano in order to restore access to education to 100 middle class students. This project has been born as an expression of a full spirit of cooperation of that living laboratory of individuals who join just to help other people, something we have always tended to. We close through the exhortation of our founder urging everyone to support ABF educational projects, because «any contribution, even modest, will be important, it will be decisive».
