Generali Italia and its agents are supporting the “With You, to Shape the Future” project launched by ABF during phase 2 of the COVID-19 emergency, which is being introduced to the Italian Pediatric Hospitals Association network also

Muccia, September 15 – The collaboration between the Andrea Bocelli Foundation (ABF) and Generali Italia continues, united by their commitment to innovation and overcoming barriers, with a digital education initiative – developed in partnership with the Italian Pediatric Hospitals Association (AOPI) – which will strategically contribute to the ABF “With You, To Shape the Future – Distance Learning for Hospital Schools” project.

Access to education has always been the cornerstone of ABF’s work, both within Italy and abroad, and the embodiment of its mission of “empowering people and communities”. As a community leader, and thanks to the funds raised with the second campaign launched during phase 2 of the COVID-19 emergency, ABF has decided to develop its “With You, to Shape the Future” project. This initiative is supported by Generali Italia and its agents to help the children and young people admitted to the long-stay wards of Italian pediatric hospitals. Thus, ABF and Generali are once again standing with communities that find themselves in difficult situations.

This is a solid commitment that Generali Italia, together with The Human Safety Net Foundation, is advancing in Italy with “Ora di Future” – Time for the Future – also, the education project for children that involves teachers, families, elementary schools and non-profit networks.

This fall, with the support of Generali Italia, ABF will be ready to deliver the tools required to improve distance learning to students and teachers by creating teaching spaces within a few AOPI network hospitals, to help break down the barriers that can hinder the development of talent in the newer generations, especially in such a delicate context such as that of hospitalization.

Specifically, ABF’s new distance learning initiatives will strive to:

  1. Create a library of devices, so as to allow students to connect with their teachers and educators;
  2. Develop a platform for the ABF Lab, which will allow access to a series of online educational content, including interactive content;
  3. Train the professional role of the digital atelierista, a 4.0 librarian able to support teachers, parents and students on the correct usage of the tools and on how to use the same tools to maintain and develop relationships.

“We had approached the topic of education in hospitals even before the COVID-19 emergency – explains Laura Biancalani, ABF President – Today, after we have all experienced what it means to learn at a distance and the difficulties it brings with it, the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and Generali are committed to striving to provide students facing a hospital stay with the tools required to achieve their potential, in line with the UN’s Global Goal 4: “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all’”.

Daniela Ara, Head of CSR and Sponsorship of Generali Italia, said: “We are committed every day to having a positive impact on the real economy and strengthening our social role as insurers. With this project, together with the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, we are supporting the children admitted to the long-stay wards of Italian pediatric hospitals to offer them tangible support. For us, this means working together to build trust via real and immediate actions to support communities”.

Generali Italia has been supporting the Andrea Bocelli Foundation for years. Just a month ago, ABF donated a Revolution Evo 128-slice CT scanner to Camerino Hospital (MC), which was achieved thanks to the funds raised during phase 1 of the COVID-19 emergency and due to Generali’s invaluable support, whose employees donated 10,000 working hours to the Generali Extraordinary International Fund.
