Pete Kepes, ABF Volunteer – “My first visit to Haiti”

Dear ABF,

I want to thank you for including me as a member of the ABF Team during your recent trip. It was my first visit to Haiti and even though I had read about the country’s problems, traveled extensively to other troubled parts of the world and thought I was emotionally prepared, I quickly realized that I wasn’t at all ready for the widespread devastation I witnessed.  However in the very same breath, I must say I am incredibly grateful and humbled by the ABF and other organizations whose volunteers give so selflessly of themselves to make a difference to a desperate land.  The progress and development brought to Haiti by the ABF and its volunteers is absolutely incredible.   To see simple joy, pride and hope restored to the land and its people is an amazing experience that everyone should see for themselves.  I am honored and humbled to have walked along side people who care enough to make such a positive difference in someone else’s life.  Thank you!
