Organized in partnership with the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and the Comprehensive Institute of Capannoli, with the extraordinary participation of ABF founder Andrea Bocelli.
The Municipality of Lajatico promotes the initiative “Looking Ahead – A Village School. Dialogues Between Past and Present, Between Architecture and Pedagogy: Childhood at the Center,” organized on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the CentroZEROSEI Hub, an educational center created to enhance childhood education and strengthen the local community.
The event will take place on Thursday, May 14, 2026, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Municipal Theatre of Lajatico, located at Via G. Garibaldi 49. The program will feature authoritative voices from the fields of architecture and pedagogy, alongside institutional representatives and ABF founder Andrea Bocelli.
The presence of the renowned tenor carries particularly deep significance: CentroZEROSEI was originally dedicated to “Alessandro Bocelli,” making the bond with the Bocelli family an inseparable value, embedded in the Center’s history for the past ten years. This relationship continues to reflect the shared commitment with the foundation bearing his name, the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, toward high-quality education.
Mayor Fabio Tedeschi emphasized that the anniversary represents: “A moment for reflection and renewal. The celebration marking the tenth anniversary bears the title Looking Ahead – The Village School: a perspective that begins with an experience born ten years ago and that today engages with current realities, challenges, and a landscape marked by insufficient planning dedicated to education and families. Extending the invitation to the entire community stems from the awareness that school — schools — are a heritage of communities and a profound connection to their identities. It is precisely from here that we must begin again: from childhood as the foundation of the future of our villages, or rather, our municipalities.”
“The tenth anniversary of CentroZEROSEI ‘A. Bocelli’ tells the story of a vision: an education rooted in places, nurtured by people, and capable of generating a future for the entire community. Over these ten years, this educational hub has demonstrated that investing in early childhood means caring for tomorrow, recognizing children as the living heart of our villages. This vision deeply aligns with the mission of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, which operates internationally to enhance human potential through education, placing the individual at the center from the earliest years of life. Standing alongside the Municipality of Lajatico and the Comprehensive Institute of Capannoli means renewing a shared commitment: to build inclusive, aware communities capable of looking ahead without losing their identity.” — Laura Biancalani, General Director of ABF.
Citizens, education professionals, and all interested participants are invited to attend. Admission to the Municipal Theatre is free, subject to seating availability and maximum venue capacity.
