2018 SMS Solidarity Campaign

September 11th marked the closing day of the “Con Te” SMS Solidarity campaign dedicated to the fundraising initiative for the new reconstruction project of a school in the Marches region affected by the 2016  earthquake swarm. After building the ‘Giacomo Leopardi’ school in Sarnano, in the province of Macerata, inaugurated last May and realized in just 150 days, the Foundation has decided to realize a new building applying the same approach in Muccia, just a few kilometers away. The project whose beneficiaries will be the “Edmondo De Amici” pre-school and first grade students has already been set: the demolition of the remains of the old facility and the new building will take place within a concerted action plan with the Special Commissioner for the Reconstruction. Like for Sarnano, the new school will be donated to the local administration as a “turnkey” project.

Representatives of the Muccia and Sarnano municipalities were present at the Arena of Verona together with the real” protagonists” of our work, namely the students and their families, at the magic event “La notte di Andrea Bocelli” which was broadcasted on Raiuno TV channel on 09/09.  – An exciting evening during which, on stage, accompanied by the most beautiful arias of the operas interpreted by Maestro Bocelli, the images of ABF and Muccia projects were presented, where the earth still continues to shake, but where with confidence and everyone’s contribution it will be possible to give the children and the whole community a new important point of reference. “Our Mission of Empowering People and Communities, drives our actions as we strive to conceive mid-long term projects in order to create and/or restore living conditions which foster the full expression of the potential of individuals and communities. In Muccia too, this project goes beyond the emergency”  –  states Vice-Chairman Veronica Berti Bocelli.
