2015 – CRYSTAL AWARD TO ANDREA BOCELLI, DAVOS

A great recognition to the artist, to the man and to his philanthropic activity, expressed through the Foundation bearing his name: Andrea Bocelli was awarded in Davos on the opening of the World Economic Forum with the prestigious Crystal Awards. The Italian tenor received the prestigious award that is annually awarded to an artist of global importance (among the winners of the previous editions, Jose Carreras, Lorin Maazel and Matt Damon). “I am very happy and moved”, said the ABF Founder who then thanked the members of his Foundation:”it was born four years ago in the name of three women Olimpia Angeletti, Veronica Berti and the president, Laura Biancalani. Then, always in his Acceptance speech he went on saying: “Just last night a friend of mine told me that a man is happy only when he creates something, having been created in the image and likeness of his Creator, man is happy only when he manages to achieve something concrete. All the things we have been able to achieve through the Foundation, in such a short time, have left us amazed, and have made us happy”.


2014  – UNCA AWARD TO ANDREA BOCELLI AND VERONICA BERTI, NEW YORK

UNCA AWARD TO ANDREA BOCELLI AND VERONICA BERTI, NEW YORKAndrea Bocelli and his wife Veronica Berti were honored in New York, Tuesday December 16th, in the course of the UNCA awards 2014, an event that gives prestigious awards to journalists who, during the year, have told with excellence the activities of the United Nations all over the world. Andrea and Veronica received the “UNCA Global Citizens of the Year” for their constant commitment with the Andrea Bocelli Foundation that since 2011, has been working to ensure that people and communities living each day with difficulties because of illness, poverty, and social exclusion, in Developing Countries, but also in Italy, can express at best their capabilities by building projects having an immediate and signifying impact. To celebrate this award together with the founder also the President of AB, Laura Biancalani.

The evening was attended by UN officials, including UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, diplomats, and journalist from all over the world. During the event also Sting, and his wife Trudie Styler, were awarded, with the “UNCA Global Advocates of the Year”.

UNCA, founded in 1948, is a nonprofit association that represents more than 250 journalists from all over the world, covering the activities of the United Nations at the UN headquarters.

Among previous winners there are: American Ex President Bill Clinton, Sir Richard Branson, Angelina Jolie, Ted Turner, Jeffrey Sachs, Nicholas Cage, Mira Sorvino, John Prendergast, Raymond G. Chambers with Professor Awa Marie Coll-Seck, Forest Whitaker and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.


2013 – LIONS INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN AWARD TO ANDREA BOCELLI, HAMBURG

2013 – LIONS INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN AWARD TO ANDREA BOCELLI, HAMBURGFor the sensitivity and vision that have given life to his Foundation Andrea Bocelli has been awarded the Humanitarian Award by the Lions International Foundation with the following motivation: “To Andrea Bocelli because by means of his Foundation he works to fight poverty in Developing Countries. His Foundation operates trying to fight disease, illiteracy and social exclusion through cooperation and economic support. In addition it supports a team of MIT researchers, who are developing wearable devices for the blind and the visually impaired, a theme dear to the Lions all over the world.” The Rotary International Foundation, sharing the aims of ABF has made available for the projects in Haiti and for the challenge towards autonomy of the blind the sum of USD 250.000,00.

ARNO PRIZE FOR SOLIDARITY TO LAURA BIANCALANI AS PRESIDENT OF ABF, PISAMotivation for the prize: Laura Biancalani is the President of the Andrea Bocelli Foundation, created to help people in difficulty, due to illness, disability, poverty and social exclusion through the promotion and the support of national and international projects. “ARNo” is pleased to award her the prize for solidarity for showing with her determination and tenacity that happiness is a right of every human being and as such it must be strenuously defended. Her unwavering commitment and her extraordinary strength are a pride and an example for our Country, but they also are a message that she proudly conveys all over the world.
